The pan we built first

A founder's note from Milli.

When we started designing TITÁN, we made a small rule for ourselves: build the first pan as if it were the only pan we'd ever sell.

That pan turned out to be the 28cm Signature Hammered Frying Pan. It's the piece I reach for at home almost every day — wide enough for a real sear, balanced enough for a one-handed lift, and built around the surface I started this company to make.

The brief

It had to be a pan you could use hard, for years, without thinking about it.

That sounds obvious. It isn't. Most non-stick pans have a built-in countdown — the coating either chips, flakes, or just stops working. The whole category is designed around replacement. We wanted the opposite: a pan that improves the more you cook with it.

So no coating. The cooking surface had to be solid, uncoated titanium — inert, biocompatible, structurally hard enough to take metal utensils. Underneath, a clad construction: titanium surface, aluminium core for fast, even heat, stainless steel base for induction. And it had to look like the kind of pan you'd want on your hob even when it isn't being used.

The hammered finish

The Signature line is hammered — a faceted titanium surface that catches the light when it's resting on the burner. There's a practical reason: the texture helps the natural low-stick patina build evenly over time. There's also an honest reason: it looks beautiful.

The upgrade we didn't plan

Here's the bit I'm slightly proud of. Halfway through trial production, our manufacturing partner mentioned they had a thicker clad spec — 2.8mm instead of the 2.0mm we'd specced — used by the kind of high-end Amazon sellers who chase a heavier hand-feel. It wasn't on our order. They offered to upgrade our trial pans to it at no extra cost.

We said yes. And then we realised: this is the flagship. Make it the standard.

So the 28cm Signature now ships at 2.8mm clad, weighing in at 2.6kg — substantial without being unwieldy, the kind of weight that says this pan is going to be here. It's the only piece in our opening line at that spec. It earns the word flagship.

What it stands for

One pan, one promise: only titanium meets your food. No coatings, no PFAS, no chemical layer between you and your dinner.

If we get the first pan right, the rest of the range has somewhere to start from.
